The group seeks to improve and develop Ely in ways that will benefit residents, visitors and businesses

The City of Ely Perspective seeks to influence and support growth in Ely whilst retaining local distinctiveness

The Perspective strives to be a credible and independent voice as well as powerful partner.

Four main objectives:

  • Raise the profile of Ely locally, nationally and internationally to attract more visitors and businesses to come to the city

  • Encourage visitors to stay longer so they explore further and contribute more to the local economy

  • Build a thriving local economy through initiatives to support and encourage local businesses.

  • Ensure the city is well cared of with the right facilities to make visitors want to return, especially well organised disabled access, car parking, public transport and tourist information.

The Perspective is made up of a number of partner organisations with whom it works to achieve projects or funding. It also relies on the goodwill of more than 100 volunteers who are members of its four working groups. The Perspective is chaired by Philip Eden and receives core funding from ECDC and City council
